Recently, a type of video suddenly became popular online where people show their roommates the story video of Long Long and then film their reactions. Most of the time, these videos start with the roommate swearing confidently, and end with them silent and speechless. With the goal of exploring why watching emotions change, I clicked on Long Long's video, watched the most-viewed one, spent 0.7 RMB, and began my exploration of this truth.
The story is not complicated. It tells of a blogger walking on the street who meets another blogger. Over two days, they discuss and communicate with each other, travel to each other's cities, but regretfully part due to real-life issues in the end.
There are a few points I want to bring up:
First point is when the male blogger learns that it is the female blogger's birthday that day, and that she has never had a proper celebration for her birthday growing up, he buys a cake for her at dinner to give her an unforgettable memory.
Second point is the most important, and I personally think it is the turning point of this short story—the next morning, after weighing the pros and cons, the female blogger chooses to leave, but the male blogger secretly buys a plane ticket and goes to the female blogger's hometown.
Third point is reflected in their dialogue, such as "Are you willing to come with me?" "Let's bury ourselves here together."
I think these three points exactly represent our generation's yearning for beautiful love.
The first point shows that in this fast-paced era, most of us pursue beauty rarely, and it is a luxury. A rare moment of beauty can easily stir up the emotions buried in our hearts.
The second point is our contemporary youth's yearning for the courage to break through traditional dogmatism. From childhood to adulthood, we follow the plans set by our parents and elders, and hear things like "no puppy love" and "study hard in middle and high school." This so-called courage easily triggers the yearning for freedom in each of our hearts.
The third point is that many such back-and-forth statements appear in the video, seeming to have regrets and beauty, but ultimately, this emotion is similar to many of our viewers' experiences in love. If nothing unexpected happens, many of us have said sweet, beautiful, and yearning words when in love, which exactly stirs up our memories or yearnings for our own love.
With this, I want to raise a few questions:
- What exactly is love?
- Is love really necessary?
- Do we need to weigh pros and cons in love?
- Are most loves full of regrets?
First, I want to express my own view: I personally think love is the sincerity of a relationship, a process from "I" to "we."
Why is love a process from "I" to "we"?
In the development of a relationship, feelings are not eternal and unchanging from the start. Instead, through mutual interaction, they constantly expose their own problems, then adjust,磨合, and get closer in a cyclical process.
During this process, many people cannot accept it and choose to separate, while others continue this cycle, eventually quantitative changes turn into qualitative changes.
Is love really necessary?
This question actually has a special video on Bilibili's New National Debate. Here I want to share my viewpoint.
Love is indeed not necessary. A person without love can still continue to eat, sleep, study, and fulfill life ambitions.
But love is indeed a seasoning for life. It allows us to touch the warmth in our hearts, helps us better discover our own problems, and is an accelerator and magnifying glass for growing up.
Of course, everyone's way of cultivating themselves is different. Some think loneliness is the way, others think love is.
Then, does love really need weighing pros and cons?
This depends on the stage, age, and society?
I think when a relationship just begins, or when both are young, the feelings should be pure, beautiful, regardless of cost, and full of hope for a beautiful future.
But as time passes and society fluctuates, daily necessities become the norm in life.
Appropriate weighing of pros and cons is the most ideal choice.
In one sentence: Not weighing is romantic idealism; moderate weighing is mature love.
Are most loves really regrets?
I don't know, I want to know too, maybe so.
I seem to be an experiencer of regret.
Finally, I want to say what kind of person I am.
I want to define myself as a rational romantic.
I can rationally view this matter afterward and handle my emotions;
but when experiencing it, my heart is soft.
I long for true feelings, but sometimes I don't know how to handle them, which often makes others unhappy.
So what do I want to say in the end?
What is lost is a person;
What is gained is the ability to see love clearly
The current clarity is exactly the most precious gift love has left you
